Ushuaia is the world’s southernmost city. Known as the “city of the End of the World” - or the beginning of everything else-, Ushuaia combines natural beauty and regional hospitality to become a favourite spot for many tourists visiting.
Our city is located between the shores of the Beagle Channel and the Martial Mountains. Its marvellous location allows you to enjoy the conjunction of the ocean, the forest and the mountains, with its valleys, lakes and local fauna. |
In winter, sports possibilities are almost endless. The official opening of the season starts traditionally on July 20th, when the Longest Night National Party takes place. Our region has been declared the National Capital of Cross Country and Biathlon.
Cross Country is an ideal way to enjoy our surroundings because of the snow covered valleys sheltered by lengas, cohiues and cinnamon tree forests. Regarding Andean skiing, the southernmost Winter Sports Center in the world features a S.I.F. Competition rink suitable for National and International competitions. Off-rinks are exceptional for the more demanding skiers, and ideal for extreme snowboarding.
Traditional events for this season: The Longest Night, the Opening of the Season with the Torches Descent, the Snow Sculptures, the White march, a Sledge Dog Race, the Argentine Snowboard Championship, etc.
In summer, our city is ideal for adventure activities such as trekking, mountain biking, climbing and horse back riding.The fishing season starts in summer as well. Tierra del Fuego National Park is an excellent attraction for this sport, not only for the quantity and variety of the trout that live in its rivers, but also for their big size.
Our National Park attracts tourists all around the world. In a combination of different landscapes, you can discover natural beauties like lakes Escondido and Fagnano, as well as get to see a great deal of local fauna (red and grey foxes, beavers, woodpeckers, condors, penguins, sea lions.) just by walking through its beautiful woods and shores.

Another activity you wouldn’t want to miss is the trip to the Martiel Glacier. Trekking is recommendable for the adventurous ones, but you can simply take a chair lift for 1100 meters in order to arrive at the top. The view from that height is unforgettable.
Excursions through the Beagle Channel, Cabo de Hornos, and Antarctica are available as well.
Other must-do activities are a visit to the “Jail of the End of the World” Museum and a trip on The Train of the End of the world. Both are main icons of Ushuaia and they help us to understand its story and colonization.
To say the least, Ushuaia really is a suitable choice to study Spanish in Argentina.

Our teachers have prepared our Spanish courses focusing specifically in foreign students capabilities. We have thought of every aspect of studying and learning a new language, emphasizing on communication skills. Our teacher’s dedication, enthusiasm and flexibility show how much we care about you living the Argentine experience to its fullest. |
Spanish Courses:
Each course is divided into six levels (inicial, elemental, pre intermedio, intermedio, intermedio superior and avanzado). The first day of your arrival, you will be asked to sit for a placement test. That is how you will be placed into the right level according to your knowledge of Spanish. Each lesson lasts 55 minutes, and they are held every day from Monday to Friday by highly professional and experienced teachers. Group classes have a maximum of seven students.
